Father's Day at The Square , West Palm Beach

The Square in West Palm Beach is hosting a two-day diversity and family celebration on June 18th and 19th, during Father's Day and Juneteenth weekend. The outdoor festival will be hosted in partnership with Rohi's Readery while celebrating their one-year anniversary. The two-day celebration will be filled with eclectic culinary pop-ups, an array of local Black-owned businesses and non-profit organizations dedicated to youth empowerment and community activism.

The Basics of Katazome Workshop at the Morikami Museum, Delray Beach

On June 18 and 19, the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens presents the workshop The Basics of Katazome. Katazome is a Japanese resist process used for hundreds of years in Japanese textiles. During this 2-day workshop students will learn the basics of katazome, the preparation of the fabric and resist paste, the making of stencils, the application of the paste onto fabric, and the dyeing of the fabric in a natural indigo vat.

Art After Dark Celebrates Juneteenth / Von Archer , West Palm Beach

Each Friday night from 5 pm to 10 pm, the Norton Museum in West Palm Beach organizes Art After Dark—a fun mix of art and entertainment! On Friday, June 17, the join the Norton Museum's Pre-Juneteenth Festival celebration with a musical performance by rapper and songwriter Von Archer, an Open Studio that will celebrate the holiday, and an Artist Tour by south-Florida artist and Associate Professor of Visual Art at Florida Atlantic University, Dorotha Lemeh.

As part of its annual celebration of Juneteenth, Arts Garage is presenting the event "Julius Sanna & The Positively Africa Experience." Positive songs and tales of African culture and art are offered with a joyful fusion of African rhythms, jazz, funk, and pop—an exciting celebration of the African journey of freedom and her contributions to the world. Julius Sanna is a Tanzanian-born, Kenyan-raised, American-influenced musician, minister, and motivational speaker. Along with his wife Julia, they created thePositively Africa band to spread the positive message and highlight the beauty of the African continent. The event starts at 8 pm.

International Sushi Day at City Oyster, Delray Beach

Juneteenth Family Celebration at the Norton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach

On Saturday, June 18 from 12-5 pm, the Norton Museum of Art presents an intergenerational event that celebrates freedom and spotlights the African American experience with live musical performances, dance, gallery talks on art by African American artists, storytelling, and art-making activities. Free Admission to the museum and celebration. All visitors will enjoy small bites and refreshments in the Great Hall or dine in The Restaurant from 11 am to 3 pm.

Carnival Party with Jupiter Bounce, Palm Beach Gardens

Established in 1996 by the Community Redevelopment Agency, the Delray GreenMarket takes place each Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm in front of the Cornell Museum of Art at Old School Square, Delray Beach. The main objective of the practice of Tai Chi is to magnify, strengthen, and encourage the flow of the internal energy, the "chi".  When the "chi" flows throughout the body, one experiences over-all health, rejuvenation, and internal joy. Led by Josefina McMahon, this class is based on Sun Style Tai Chi which combines Qi gong and Tai Chi. Palm Beach County's 2nd annual Juneteenth Fest falls on Father's Day! The Juneteenth Unity x Black Excellence Festival was created to unite and uplift the community and celebrate Emancipation day. The festival is a day of communion, education, entertainment, food, resources, and is a space for Black-owned businesses to thrive. The Festival will be held June 19, 2022, from 3 to 10 pm at the Riviera Beach Marina.
